Speaking about the possibility of a reunion with the band, former Black Sabbath frontman Tony Martin said he would be “up for” collaborating with Tony Iommi once more.

Ozzy Osbourne: A unique rock ‘n’ roll performer
For a brief period between the mid-1980s and the late 1990s, when the band’s lineup had changed to include founding guitarist Tony Iommi, the singer assumed the role of frontman.

Comprised of Iommi, Martin, legendary drummer Cozy Powell (Whitesnake, Jeff Beck, Rainbow), and long-time Sabbath collaborator and keyboardist Geoff Nicholls (Bandy Legs, Quartz), the line-up came two decades and multiple line-up changes into the band’s career.

With him as the singer, the band released six albums: ‘The Eternal Idol’ (1987), ‘Headless Cross’ (1989), ‘Tyr’ (1990), ‘Cross Purposes’ (1994), ‘Cross Purposes Live’ (1995) and ‘Forbidden’ (1995). He was later removed from the role after Iommi reunited with his fellow original bandmates.

The guitarist recently shared a box set called “Anno Domini 1989-1995” that included the albums he recorded with Martin earlier this year. Since then, the singer has stated that he is willing to collaborate with Iommi once more.

He told RockSverige in a recent interview, “I would, and I’ve already said that if he felt like doing something I’d be up for it,” but he later clarified that he doesn’t think it will likely come to pass.
