Rumors about a possible one-off reunion show from heavy metal pioneers Black Sabbath have been circulating in recent months, and now the band’s drummer is chiming in.
Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward parted ways with the metal legends in 2012 citing an “unreasonable contract,” according to NME.
The 76-year-old therefore missed Sabbath’s final show during the band’s “The End Tour” in Birmingham, England in 2017.
Ward was replaced drummer Tommy Clufetos after a falling out between Ward and Osbourne, according to Louder
However, the drummer said on social media this week that he’s “in for playing some of everyone’s old favorites.”
“Loved playing them then, I’d love to play them one last time,” Ward wrote on X Thursday, July 25. “I’m not going to talk about my health publicly except to say, everyday I’m pretty good for 76 years old, I’m active musically every day, and I have a very busy and gratifying life.”
Original Black Sabbath members Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler have all expressed interest in the band playing one last reunion show.
Earlier this year, Osbourne said he felt like Black Sabbath’s story was unfinished and that he would love to play with Ward again during an episode of The Madhouse Chronicles, a podcast series hosted by Osbourne and Billy Morrison.
“If they wanted to do one more gig with Bill, I would jump at the chance,” Osbourne said, according to Louder. “I was sad that Bill wasn’t there. I mean Tommy Clufetos, my drummer, did a great job. But he ain’t Bill Ward
