It took Miovski until his second league start to hit the goal trail at Aberdeen as he bagged a brace in a 4-1 win over St. Mirren in August 2022. He finished with 16 goals and scored in a 2-0 victory over Rangers on the final day of the 2022/23 season. His goal haul saw him joint-fourth in the race for the SPL Golden Boot and the top ten for goals per 90 minutes of all players that made more than 20 appearances that season.
The forward scored 14 goals in the regular 2023/24 SPL campaign, which included two goals against champions Celtic, and took his tally to 16 yet again with a couple of goals after the season’s split. Bojan Miovski is a major threat and averaged 2.7 shots per game in the regular season, ranking in him in the top six of that metric and he is most effective in the penalty area, averaging 2.1 shots per game in the 18-yard-box, placing him in the top three.
He ranked in the top ten for goals per game in the penalty area in 2023/24 and he will be a major addition to Girona, who qualified for the Champions League after a heroic La Liga campaign in 2023/24. Miovski has experience in Europe from his time at Aberdeen, having scored in both legs of their Europa League qualifying defeat to BK Hacken and scoring twice in the club’s subsequent Europa Conference League group stage campaign.
The North Macedonia international will depart with no silverware, despite playing a starring role in Aberdeen’s run to the Scottish Cup semi-finals last season, where he scored four goals before the Dons were beaten on penalties by Celtic. Fabrizio Romano has now reported that after saying goodbye and receiving a fitting farewell from the Pittodrie crowd, the player is set to join Girona next week, despite the interest from Birmingham City, with the deal almost done.
