Manchester United hit back through Amad Diallo after an early setback against Premier League leaders Brighton in the lunchtime kick-off.

Former Red Devils striker  broke the deadlock at the Amex Stadium and then struck the woodwork with a header from close range.

But Erik ten Hag’s side, looking to build on their opening day victory over Fulham, pulled level after a run from Diallo, with his finish deflected past Jason Steele to set up a thrilling finale.

Earlier in the game, the Seagulls continued their early season form and capped a lovely move in the first half, involving Kaoru Mitoma, when Welbeck escaped Harry Maguire to poke home into the empty net from close range.

United, playing without a conventional No.9 from the start once again, almost hit back immediately though with Marcus Rashford’s spectacular rebound after Steele’s fine stop, but the assistant referee raised his flag for offside. Follow all the action from today’s Premier League encounter below:
