Guyana Amazon Warriors: head coach Rayon Griffith annouce unexpected retirement due to medical issues….

Barbados Royals and Guyana Amazon Warriors will face off in the 1st Match of Women’s Caribbean Premier League at Brian Lara Cricket Academy, San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago on 22nd August 2024. Royals have a great bowling lineup which gives them an edge in this game. Who will win this game of cricket?

Hayley Matthews and her team look to take off from where they left off last year, even dominating this tournament before winning it with just one loss. Having that strong batting lineup puts Matthews in a confident mindset for a good start to the season, as she looks to set the tone with Chamari Athapaththu while Rashada Williams, Laura Harris, and Chinelle Henry are expected to come good in the middle order. While Amanda-Jade Wellington and Aaliyah Alleyne are trusted run-getters for the side, they have an equally great bowling line-up in Chinelle Henry and Shabika Gajnabi, who will be expected to do damage with the new ball. Aaliyah Alleyne and Qiana Joseph, along with Matthews, will be very key in the middle overs, while Amanda-Jade Wellington and Afy Fletcher provide the needed support.

Stafanie Taylor’s team is well geared to put behind the disappointment of last season as they prepare to take on the Barbados Royals Women in the first game of the new season. Taylor will lead the side, and in her line-up, she will have some fierce batters. Realanna Grimmond and Lauren Winfield-Hill will open the innings together for the first time, looking for a good start. Then, the experienced Taylor will anchor the middle order along with Shemaine Campbelle and Natasha McLean, while Chole Tryon and Sheneta Grimmond will further strengthen this batting lineup.
