Breaking news: The Philadelphia Eagles express confidence that their offense will continue to perform effectively even if the ‘Tush Push’ maneuver is prohibited today…

NFL owners are preparing to vote today at the Spring League Meeting on a revised proposal to ban the infamous Tush Push  the controversial play popularised by the Super Bowl LIX champion Philadelphia Eagles.

The suggested changes, tabled by the Green Bay Packers ahead of the Annual General League Meeting in April, have drawn mixed reviews from players and NFL alumni.

Speaking to reporters Tuesday, Eagles lineman Jordan Mailata didn’t seem concerned about the proposed change

Packers CEO Mark Murphy has made his feelings clear about why he would like the play removed from the game, telling fans, “I am not a fan of this play. There is no skill involved, and it is almost an automatic first down on plays of a yard or less.

The data backs up Murphy’s claim. Per ESPN, the Eagles and Buffalo Bills achieved a first down or scored a touchdown on 87% of their Tush Push attempts last season, compared with only 71% for other NFL teams.

If today marks the end of the Tush Push era, it went out the same way it came in unstoppable.
