
In addition to being one of the original members of Black Sabbath, Ward’s musical contributions to the group’s landmark albums served to establish the band’s sound and solidify their position as heavy metal pioneers. To put it simply, Bill Ward is as much a member of the group as Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Ozzy Osbourne.
When asked if he was happy with Sabbath’s career during an interview, Osbourne said, “No.” For it was not Black Sabbath who brought it to a close. It’s not done. I would gladly accept the opportunity to work with Bill again if they so desired. What would be awesome, do you know? If we simply got up and headed to a club or somewhere else without warning. We met in a club at first. The absence of Bill made me unhappy. My drummer, Tommy Clufetos, did an amazing job. He’s not Bill Ward, though.”
