Brendan Rodgers lays out an ambitious Celtic vision, using the Rangers as an example of what may go wrong.
Even though Celtic had a double season of triumph last year, the idea of complacency has been a touchy one this summer.

The Bhoys’ performance in the second half of the 2023–24 season was remarkable, particularly as important players began to return from injuries, but everyone agreed that the team required more reinforcements.
Although Celtic are the strongest team in Scotland and will probably demonstrate this once more by the end of 2024–2025, Brendan Rodgers is looking to see what is possible in Europe.

However, the transfer market has been incredibly slow, and there are now just a few weeks left to fill positions in the team’s attack, midfield, and defense—all of which could use new players.

Rodgers was questioned about complacency during this week’s pre-Kilmarnock press conference, and the manager is convinced that there isn’t any at Celtic, at least not among the people he oversees.

Celtic have “burning ambition,” according to Rodgers.

Celtic TV quoted the manager as saying, “It’s not within our psyche.” Not in the minds of a manager and a player, for sure. Others may naturally believe that you have no chance at all, but I don’t think that’s abnormal.

“We hold ourselves to our own standards. Our personal standards are very high here at home. That is the main course of action, so you must pursue it. You cannot assume that nothing will change.

That was observed a few years back. Rangers may not have been in the best situation, but they did win the league. It’s possible that because the Rangers had won the league, people assumed they would have moved on. Then it shifted abruptly once more.
