Pulaski County managed to slip by Adair County the last time these teams faced off, but didn’t have those same answers this time around. The Maroons lost 12-2 to the Indians on Saturday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Maroons couldn’t push the score so high this time.

 

Chase Farmer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

 

Meanwhile, Somerset fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Elizabethtown on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 7-6. The Briar Jumpers have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

 

Somerset saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Lewis, who went 2-for-4 with eight stolen bases and two runs. The Briar Jumpers are 2-1 when Lewis posts two or more runs, but 5-11 otherwise. Connor Roberts was another, going 3-for-5 with one stolen base.

 

Somerset’s record now sits at 7-12. As for Pulaski County, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-5 record.
