Before that, she made her professional debut with ADO Den Haag in 2017. Villa manager Robert de Pauw said: “Chasity is a fast winger with lots of pace.

“She can play on both sides and is also able to play as a striker or wing-back. Chasity has made many youth international appearances and has now broken into the senior national team which has been great to see.

“She has earned her stripes in the Netherlands, winning everything there was to win. She is a player I believe will suit the WSL with her style of play and I look forward to working with her and seeing her shine in front of our amazing supporters.”

Head of Women’s Football Lee Billiard added: “We are delighted to bring Chasity to Aston Villa.”

“She is an exciting young player who has gained experience at all levels. Chasity is a player Robert identified to us early on and we wanted to ensure we added her to the playing squad during this transfer window to aid the competitiveness within the group.”

Grant becomes De Pauw’s seventh summer signing following the arrivals of Paula Tomás, Katie Robinson, Jill Baijings, Miri Taylor, Sabrina d’Angelo and Missy Bo Kearns. Villa finished seventh in the WSL last term and will kick off the new campaign against champions Chelsea on September
