With nearly every league game this season, the 18-year-old has established himself as a vital member of the team.

Even under temporary management, Sunderland’s recent victories over Leeds and West Brom demonstrate the team’s tenacity and promise.

Following his game-winning effort on Tuesday night, Jobe Bellingham sent out a message to Sunderland supporters.

A 78th-minute strike courtesy of the 18-year-old sealed all three points for the Black Cats in their crunch clash at the top of the table against Leeds United.

A 1-0 win has maintained the club’s position inside the play-off places as we approach the halfway stage of the term.

Bellingham has become a crucial component of the Sunderland team this term, having featured in all but one of their games in the league.

The teenager signed for the Wearside outfit during the summer in a move worth a whopping £3 million.

Bellingham’s letter to Sunderland fans
Bellingham celebrated a significant win on Tuesday night by sharing a message with supporters on social media.

The youngster highlighted the team’s performance, as he thanked the home supporters for their backing at the Stadium of Light midweek.

“A fantastic group effort and a huge result which our fans thoroughly deserve,” wrote Bellingham, via Instagram.

“Another special night at home!”

Bellingham has made 20 league appearances for Sunderland so far this season, all of which have come as a start.

Before moving to Wearside in the summer, the young player played 22 games for Birmingham City in the Championship.

It’s impressive how far the 18-year-old has gone in the past 12 months to see how only five of those were a start.

Bellingham has helped the Black Cats, who hope to finish in the top six once again this season, with four goals and one assist.

Under Tony Mowbray, who was fired as manager at the beginning of this month due to a dismal run of results, the team finished sixth in the previous campaign.
