Week 16: Three Detroit Lions players are unlikely to suit up against the Vikings.

The Detroit Lions’ game versus the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday might be historically significant. Wins boost their already stellar season record and give them the NFC North Championship, something they haven’t had since 1993. However, the probable absence of three important players presents some difficulties for the Lions’ squad.

Injury Update: 3 Players Likely OUT.

Head coach Dan Campbell gave important updates on the Detroit Lions’ injury situation before practice on Friday. Cornerback Jerry Jacobs, tight end Brock Wright, and safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson look like they may miss the Week 16 matchup.

C.J. Gardner-Johnson, recently back in practice from a torn pectoral injury, is showing positive signs of recovery. However, Campbell noted that Gardner-Johnson requires more time to be game-fit. Hopefully, he will be able to return in Week 17 against the Dallas Cowboys.

Jerry Jacobs, a cornerback, could not be available, which is concerning for the Lions’ pass defense. Jacobs has contributed to Detroit’s secondary even though he has occasionally struggled. His absence might create a hole against the Vikings’ potent passing attack.

The Detroit Lions’ depth and resiliency are put to the test as they prepare for a huge game against the Minnesota Vikings. There are a lot of obstacles when guys like C.J. Gardner-Johnson, Brock Wright, and Jerry Jacobs are not there. But it also creates space for other actors to intervene and have an effect. In order to win the NFC North title and go down in club history, the Lions will need to demonstrate their adaptability and strength as a team.
