JUST IN: MANCHESTER CITY UNVEILS NEW KYLE WALKER REPLACEMENT….

A report has claimed that Manchester City have earmarked Yan Couto as their long-term replacement for Kyle Walker

Rico Lewis appeared to be set to succeed the 33-year-old as the starting quarterback after making his first team debut the previous season.

The young player, who has spent the majority of this season playing in midfield, has lately acknowledged that this is his favorite position to play in.

Yan Couto is viewed by Manchester City as their Kyle Walker replacement

Yan Couto, on the other hand, has been thriving as an a traditional right-back on loan at Girona, who are sitting in second place in La Liga so far.

The Brazilian has started in 14 out of 21 league games for the Spanish side so far while registering a goal and seven assists in what has been an impressive season.

According to a recent Daily Star story, Yan Couto is seen by Manchester City to possess the necessary “world-class potential” to eventually replace Kyle Walker.

Because of this, it’s thought that City plans to offer the 21-year-old a new contract and include him in their senior squad for the upcoming campaign.

According to reports, Pep Guardiola is eager for the former Coritiba right-back to play for his squad in the 2024–2025 season.

Real Madrid was said to be interested in the young player, and Manchester City is thought to have no intention of moving him as his contract is set to expire the following year.

Huge sign of faith in Yan Couto

Given that Kyle Walker is perhaps the best right-back to have ever played for Manchester City, it is clear how highly the team regards him that they may have chosen to rely on Yan Couto to follow him rather than recruit a top successor.

This season in the Spanish top division, the highly regarded defender—who is already a Brazilian international—has demonstrated his much-discussed inventiveness, offensive drive, and technical skill.

It’s possible that the Sky Blues think Couto would be the ideal choice to play a more offensive right-back position in the future.

It would be intriguing to see if Yan Couto takes advantage of the chance to replace Kyle Walker at Manchester City or opts to depart the team in the summer.
