JUST IN: SEATTLE SEAHAWKS WELCOME THE ARRIVER OF THE NEW COACH IN……….

Pete Carroll’s replacement has been named as former Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald, following a two-week long search. At thirty-six, Macdonald is the youngest NFL coach. He is precisely the same age as the venerable Carroll, who is still going strong at thirty-six. That’s not the purpose of this piece, but I believe Macdonald and Carroll need to have a pointless 100-yard sprint.

Here are Macdonald’s initial remarks, as provided by Seahawks.com:

When team members welcomed Macdonald and his wife Stephanie to the Virginia Mason Athletic Center, he said, “What an honor.” “We couldn’t be happier to be here. We were drawn to this location by the people, even before we got to know John and the other residents. To bring a championship back to Seattle and the 12s is the reason we are here.

Seahawks hire Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald as new coach | KRQE News 13

We’re going to work really hard, have a great time, and have an amazing journey. We will win a lot of football games and stay here for a very long period.

For the first time since founding coach Jack Patera in 1976, the Seahawks have hired an NFL head coach in Macdonald. He is regarded as one of the league’s top defensive thinkers, and part of his mission to return a Super Bowl to Seattle will involve transforming one of the worst defenses in NFL history into one of the best. Similar to this day nearly ten years ago, when the Seahawks won the Super Bowl.

Watch him go inside VMAC to a thunderous ovation now!
