Hannah Stuelke have sent a heart breaking letter to Iowa

Although Iowa won’t see someone like Clark again, these past four years have given the state so much to be proud of.
CLEVELAND — After a thousand title-game defeats, you’ve witnessed a thousand athletes who find it awkward or even repulsive to respond to inquiries from media in their first unfiltered seconds of reality.

However, for Caitlin Clark, to paraphrase Coach Eric Taylor from the TV show “Friday Night Lights,” it was all clear eyes, all passion, and can’t lose. even if she was defeated.

In addition to communicating clearly with reporters late on Sunday afternoon, Clark also expressed gratitude for the previous four years and her pride in all that occurred as a result of her, her teammates, and her coaches.

“I think over the next few days, just the emotions will get to me,” Clark remarked. “I don’t have much time to mope about my problems and sit around.” That doesn’t seem to be what I’m about either.

“Yes, I’m disappointed that we didn’t win this game, but I’m also really proud of this program, my teammates, and myself.”

The Hawkeyes’ 87-75 loss to one of the greatest women’s college basketball teams in history left them feeling less than completely ashamed. It wasn’t like South Carolina dominated Iowa in the national championship game at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

With 4:12 remaining, the Hawkeyes, who had trailed by 14 points less than four minutes ago, were within 80-75. However,

In the opening 4:26, the Hawkeyes jumped up to a 20-9 advantage. Clark scored 18 points in the first quarter. Believeland was Cleveland. But in the second and third quarters, South Carolina outscored Iowa as it outclassed every other team in the United States in the 37 games it participated in.

Clark remarked, “They’re a really good team.” “We anticipated that they would go on runs. We did not, by any means, anticipate being able to maintain that advantage when we got off to such a quick start. That’s the nature of teams.

I’m just pleased with our resilience, that’s all. As we enter the fourth quarter, we may have cut the lead to five. We simply couldn’t come up with a few baskets and a few stops.
