Sad for Ferrari News: He insist on leaving tomorrow

Both Formula One teams have confirmed that Lewis Hamilton will be joining Ferrari after leaving Mercedes at the end of this season.
Both Formula One teams have confirmed that seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton will depart Mercedes at the end of this season and sign a multi-year contract with Ferrari.

The Briton’s departure from Mercedes at the end of the current season was confirmed in a statement released by Ferrari on Thursday. Mercedes’ statement was quickly followed by one from Ferrari.

The British driver has committed to a multi-year contract, according to Ferrari. Mercedes, who said that he had “activated a release option in his contract,” will be his racing team this season.

The decision has rocked Formula One in a way reminiscent of Hamilton’s 2013 season-long transition from McLaren to Mercedes.

From 2014 until 2020, Hamilton dominated Formula One racing with the German team, winning six of his seven world championships with Mercedes and tying the record set by Michael Schumacher, a former Ferrari driver.

For years, Ferrari has been attempting to attract the British driver, but he has turned down their offers because he believes Mercedes has a better path to success.

The record F1 winners announced, “Scuderia Ferrari is pleased to announce that Lewis Hamilton will be joining the team in 2025, on a multi-year contract.”

After announcing his departure from the team at the end of the 2024 season, current Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz will be joined by Hamilton in the 2025 Ferrari lineup by Charles Leclerc.
