Sad News: He will surely be back by tomorrow

On Monday, the great third baseman should be back in the starting lineup for the Boston Red Sox.
This season, the Boston Red Sox have lost a number of pitchers and batters, including Trevor Story, due to injuries. Rafael Devers, the All-Star third baseman, has been plagued by left shoulder pain since March 29.

Despite his best efforts, Devers has been unable to play in the previous several Red Sox games. In order to compete in the AL East, Boston cannot afford for the great slugger to miss any more time.

The good news for Boston supporters, though, is that Devers might soon make a comeback to the starting lineup.

Rafael Devers is expected to return to the starting lineup for the Red Sox on Monday.
According to Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic, Red Sox manager Alex Cora informed reporters that Devers should return tomorrow before Sunday’s series finale against the Los Angeles Angels. The 27-year-old third baseman wanted to play today, but Cora says they’re going to give it another day.

The Red Sox will once again have Bobby Dalbec covering third base. The 27-year-old Devers is colliding with a pedestrian this season.184 with three RBI and two home homers.

Devers was last seen playing on Wednesday night against the Baltimore Orioles. Devers was 0-for-2 with two walks, a run scored, and a strikeout in the contest. Devers’s return on Monday is much anticipated by Boston, as Dalbec has struggled at the plate, going 0-for-16.

Prior to hosting the Cleveland Guardians for a four-game series at Fenway on Monday, Boston looks to win the three-game set against the Angels.
