So Disastrous: Kentucky YEST AGAIN MISS AN IMPORTANT TOP TARGET

The goal of the Wildcats’ roster construction is to create competition.
Mark Pope has found a ton of players on the transfer portal so far, and some of them have paid trips to Lexington.

Kentucky had two targets in mind: Koby Brea and Richie Saunders. Saunders was a BYU player under Coach Pope, and Brea spent the previous season as a sharpshooter for the Dayton Flyers.

Saunders recently declared that he will be returning to BYU for another season of play. This may have influenced the choice because it sounds like he will play a lot of minutes at BYU that he probably wouldn’t have at Kentucky.

While Brea hasn’t made a formal announcement about his plans for the upcoming season, it appears unlikely that he would play for the Wildcats given that he included Kentucky in his top five lists of colleges and recently stated he will only visit UConn and Duke.

Coach Pope will be able to acquire certain players, so I am not worried about losing out on these players. Brea seems to have gone blueblood hunting, and Saunders simply.

It feels like we are days, not weeks, away from seeing this roster come together. Saunders and Brea would have been really good additions, but I trust Coach Pope is going to put together a solid roster. A ton of talented visitors will be in Lexington this weekend, and the Wildcats are going to land a bunch of players in the portal soon.
