Heart Felt Message: It So Hard To Say Good Bye But……….

After just one season, Yaites left Baton Rouge to pursue his career on the West coast.
Over the last two weeks, the LSU football staff has been working extremely hard during the NCAA Transfer Portal window to rebuild the roster.

After seven departures, players have already started to disclose their transfer destinations. Ryan Yaites, a former Tiger defensive defender, has revealed where he will play in 2024.

Yaites is going to the West Coast to play for the Golden Bears of the University of California, Berkeley.

The 2023 LSU signee saw play as a backup safety and on special teams before making an appearance in all 13 games for the Bayou Bengals. As a true freshman last fall, the former Denton, Texas, Guyer standout recorded 16 tackles and one pass breakup.

Yaites, who was used extensively in the defensive backfield throughout the spring, will now try to suit up for the Cal Golden Bears and maybe contribute right away.

During the current window, seven players from LSU’s spring 2024 roster have entered the NCAA Transfer Portal:

Following the announcement that the first-year edge rusher would return home to play for the Minnesota Gophers, both Yaites and Howard have now disclosed their transfer destinations.

Howard is returning up north to represent his home state. In the 2023 recruiting season, Howard was the top recruit in Minnesota.

While they search for defensive line reinforcements, the LSU program is still active on the Transfer Portal. Due to a scarcity of interior lineman, prospects are being hosted by Brian Kelly and company as they aggressively pursue free agents.

The Tigers’ Transfer Portal Plan has all the information you need to know.
