Sad news: Indianapolis Colts top players announce departure from club

The Colts’ Lucas Oil Stadium Has Been Turned Into Swimming Pools For The Olympic Trials

Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indianapolis is normally the home of the National Football League’s Indianapolis Colts.

It has also been the home of the NCAA men’s basketball Final Four, Monster Jam, Monster Energy Supercross, and, coming soon, Taylor Swift on her Eras tour.

However, the 2024 United States Swimming Olympic Trials will take place before all of the Swifties gather at Lucas Oil Stadium.

This year’s major swim meet, which is scheduled for June 15–23, will be conducted on a football field for the first time ever.

Over the field, three makeshift pools have been built: two 50-meter pools and one 25-meter pool. This implies that the field where Jonathan Taylor, Anthony Richardson, and others will play this autumn is now home to an additional 5.5 million pounds of water.

We were given an advance look at some of the building that was done to accomplish this remarkable conversion from football field to swimming pool last month.

Now that the building is finished, the Indianapolis Colts X Twitter account has posted an amazing video of their “new pool.”
Blue, the Colts mascot, joined in the fun by swimming in the newest feature at Lucas Oil Field.

Coincidentally, the United States Swimming Olympic Trials were held in Indianapolis in 1924, the same year that the Olympic team participated in Paris, the site of this year’s Games, which start on July 26.

Fans were obviously quite impressed (and joked, as usual).

“Indy is a serious player,” one commenter said. “Greatest location in the nation for major event hosting!”
