SAD NEWS: Los Angeles Dodgers BAYS TOP PLAYERS ANNOUNCE DEPARTURE FROM CLUB

Lorenzen pitches Rangers past Dodgers 3-1 for their 1st series win in Los Angeles since 1999

LOS ANGELES (AP) – For the first time since 1999, the Texas Rangers upset the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-1 on Thursday night, thanks to a season-high seven innings thrown by Michael Lorenzen and two RBI hits from rookie Wyatt Langford.

The way they fought and played defense was excellent, said to Texas manager Bruce Bochy.

Rangers reliever David Robertson preserved a 3-1 lead in the eighth inning by striking out MVPs Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani, and Freddie Freeman consecutively for the second straight night. Robertson is the only pitcher to do that this season.

“I just had to dig deep,” Robertson said. “We walked away with a series, which we haven’t had in a while.”

Texas took two of three from the NL West leaders after getting routed 15-2 in the opener, when the Dodgers slugged five homers – including four in one inning.

But the Rangers’ pitching short-circuited LA’s offense this time.
